Light years ahead of its time, the Sinu-Molleweide projection has always been a favourite of ours. It is an oblique fusion of the Sinusoidal projection that originated during the renaissance and Carl Mollweide’s 1805 projection.
Colour: Colour is graded through continents and countries, to remove the abrupt borderlines of more traditional designs.
Printing: The map is printed using a lithographic printing process onto a coated, silk-finish paper, with special colours, including metallic and luminous inks. The print is finished with a sealer, to protect the inks, and a gloss UV varnish is applied to the landmasses – for contrast.
Details: Country boundaries, capital and major cities, rivers, highest peaks, sea depths, South Pole projection and a shaded physical relief layer.
Scale: 1:20,000,000 (approximately)
Paper dimensions: 1010 x 580mm
Formats: Paper / Framed
Options
Paper: The map comes as an art-quality print, ready for framing or pinning/tacking to a wall.
Framed: We frame our maps without glass, allowing the quality of the print to remain. The metallic nature of the seas and the gloss-varnished landmasses add great surface finishes to the map which light plays off well. The maps are all printed with a sealer that protects the inks, allowing your map to be gently wiped down with a cloth.
