Having been both inspired by his background in colour-forecasting and simultaneously dulled by the pastel shades of the coloured world maps on middle management’s office walls, Marcus Kirby set out to combine the alluring integrity of maps (a secret passion for many years) with his other love – design – to create maps which demand central wall-hanging space.

The Future Mapping Company released its first line of world wall maps in late 2003, to great reviews, and has since launched three other ranges of maps and created bespoke maps for several world-renowned brands.
